Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and be adept at troubleshooting and repairing various mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and effectively.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ohmmeters.
  • Conduct welding tasks as needed for repairs or installations.
  • Interpret schematics to understand complex systems and facilitate repairs.
  • Carry out residential painting and general upkeep of facilities.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities.
  • Supervise maintenance staff, providing leadership and guidance in daily operations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while interacting with clients or other departments regarding maintenance issues.

Skills

  • Proficient in mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in maintenance tasks.
  • Strong electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot various electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.
  • Welding skills are a plus for performing necessary repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
  • Experience in facilities maintenance, ensuring a safe and operational environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience is beneficial for leading a team of technicians.
  • Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

  • JOB SUMMARY: To be responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance of plant and equipment at Flint Group Arden. To assist in conjunction with others, the optimization of manufacturing processes which produce various consumables sold to the printing industry. Must be able to maintain standards of service and quality defined by Flint Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Use various tools and equipment to repair or install manufacturing or facility equipment to ensure effective operations.
  • Multi-craft responsibilities with emphasis on electrical. Will be responsible for mechanical and preventative tasks also.
  • Perform maintenance service or repairs in the following areas; general machine service, electrical and mechanical repair, welding, and HVAC.
  • Maintain equipment function, perform preventative maintenance, and support production set ups.
  • Ability to understand and follow electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Readily use root cause analysis and problem­ solving skills to diagnose most mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical system failures.
  • Understanding of program logic, complex electrical control systems, and various process controllers.
  • May assist in design of new equipment or systems.
  • Train new maintenance technicians when required.
  • Work with limited supervision in a multi-craft environment.
  • Fabricate replacement and new parts for manufacturing machinery using machining equipment (Lathes, Mills, etc.).
  • Operate powered industrial trucks.
  • This position may require annual training on Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste Handling depending on specific job assignment with the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Some weekend work will be required.

Qualifications:

  • Versed with electrical troubleshooting of PLC’s, variable frequency drives, sensors, HMI, 3-phase power.
  • Must be able to read wiring schematics; knowledge of AC / DC motors and wiring.
  • Must be safety cautious
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to relate with all members of the team
  • Ability to meet deadlines when given projects/tasks

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic production machines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Strong organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Two or Four year Degree
  • Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
