Basic Function:
ABI’s Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, maintenance, servicing, and coordination for ABI facilities, grounds, and fleet.
Activities & Responsibilities:
Facilities
- Seasonal Lawn and yard care including mowing, leaf removal, snow removal, grounds care, etc.
- Daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks such as running floor cleaner (Zamboni), fire equipment inspections, pest control device monitoring, fuel pump monitoring, etc.
- Building care including painting, door repairs such as seals, HVAC filter replacements, cleaning supply inventory, etc.
- Fleet care and scheduling.
- Small engine equipment operations and care such as John Deere tractor, UTV, Force units, chainsaws, trimmers, etc.
- First responder to spills.
- Maintenance and Repairs
- Follow all local and state building codes.
- Execute basic repairs as needed. This includes, but is not limited to: changing light bulbs, clearing drains, patching holes, painting walls, replacing door handles, etc.
- Inspect safety equipment regularly to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Fleet
- Routine maintenance on company vehicles.
- Wash and detail company vehicles as requested.
- Transport of trucks and trailers.
- Assist with truck and trailer scheduling and prep.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must have a working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general maintenance. (License for one or more preferred).
- High voltage experience is a plus.
- Preferred to have 3+ years of maintenance background.

- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and have the ability to pass DOT physical and obtain a for hire endorsement/chauffeur's license.
- Must be comfortable working from a ladder, scaffolding, scissor lift and articulating boom lift.
- Must be detail oriented.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
- Must have the ability to stand, sit, kneel, and climb for an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to talk or hear to communicate with others via phone, in-person, and/or computer.
- Ability to listen to customers/vendors/colleagues, problem solve, and respond accordingly.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
Environmental Conditions & Travel:
- The employee is exposed to manufacturing and warehouse environments with moderate to loud noise as well as office environments with moderate noise.
- The employee is required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while working in the warehouse or manufacturing environments.
- The employee will perform duties in both indoor and outdoor environments and may be exposed to varying weather conditions. Temperatures in the Midwest can range from below 0°F in winter to above 90°F in summer. Appropriate protective clothing and equipment are provided as needed.
