Position Summary
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of all hotel property and equipment. They are skilled in a variety of areas including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
Main Duties And Responsibilities

Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets; clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)

Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality

Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in electrical/mechanical/plumbing systems (e.g. HVAC, Refrigeration Systems, Lighting, Appliances and other hotel equipment)

Perform manual repairs when necessary (repair/replace door locks, replace window fixtures/windows, etc.)

Conducting ongoing room preventative maintenance program, in Guestrooms and Public Space

Resolving maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders

Conduct general upkeep procedures as directed (i.e. landscaping, caulking, painting, etc.)

Carpentry and painting skills, as well as drywall

Inspecting the property to identify potential and current needs

Work with Housekeeping to ensure all equipment within the guest rooms are functioning properly and are a part of an effective preventative maintenance program

Has a flexible schedule that can work any shifts. Assists with staffing coverage in the instance of call-offs

Adheres to all company Standard/Conduct policies and procedures

Follows the company’s employee handbook for rules and regulations

Job Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, or abilities.
Experience:
Minimum 6 months experience as a maintenance technician. Ideal candidate has at least 2 years maintenance experience.
Equipment to Be Used:
Various power tools, hand tools and ladders

Work Environment
Often wear protective attire, such as work gloves, hard hats, leather aprons, back support, and sturdy boots. Usually work indoors, but may on occasion work outdoors repairing foundations and exteriors. Work in hazardous situations or with hazardous equipment weekly. Injuries are possible from electrical shocks, cuts, or falls. Are often exposed to machine sounds and noises that are distracting and uncomfortable. Work with contaminants often such as oils, solvents, and paints. May be exposed to very hot or cold temperatures weekly. Enter cramped workplaces monthly that require getting into awkward positions. Are sometimes in high places such as roofs or on ladders. Work in conditions of bright or inadequate lighting weekly. May work near others.
