Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

Hines Park Apartments in Westland is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient upkeep of the property, performing routine maintenance tasks, and addressing any resident service requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general maintenance, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
• Respond promptly to resident service requests and work orders, ensuring timely resolution.
• Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and ensure overall safety and cleanliness.
• Maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop and inventory of tools and supplies.
• Ensure proper operation of appliances and systems within apartments and common areas.
• Assist with the turnover process, including preparing apartments for new tenants.
• Collaborate with management to schedule and perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with all relevant codes and regulations.
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed for emergency maintenance requests.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in apartment maintenance or related fields preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair issues efficiently and safely.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
• Flexible and willing to work weekends or evenings if needed.
