Overview
The associate filling this position will perform maintenance repairs to the facility and all equipment. The scope of this maintenance position will include electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, basic carpentry, plumbing, cutting and welding and any new equipment installations. This associate will perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance duties as well as immediate service as required to facilitate on-going operations. The maintenance technician will need to document and sign work orders verifying the tasks performed and materials utilized. Shift work may be required to cover vacancies or needed repairs on all shifts. Overtime may be required to cover customer requirements or maintenance activities.
Principal Accountabilities
The following are the essential job contributions; however, other duties may be assigned:
- Perform all duties in a safe working manner consistent with business policies and governmental regulations
- Maintain all manufacturing equipment, the facility and its grounds
- Respond to emergency production support requests in a timely manner
- Perform preventative maintenance duties
- Purchase and prepare requisitions for all maintenance items and replacement parts
- Create documentation (written or electronic) of work performed and materials used
- Maintain minimum and maximum maintenance spare parts inventory, MRO inventories and critical parts inventory.
- Assist in updating or developing safe operating procedures
- Maintain appropriate and accurate records in compliance with AOT’s record retention matrix
- Maintain necessary equipment preventive maintenance schedules and events as necessary or required.
- Assist Coordinators in training production associates as needed
- Assist on production floor as needed
Requirements
- Technical school certification (e.g., mechanical, electrical, pneumatic)
- Two plus years’ job experience in manufacturing maintenance technician role
- An understanding of industrial electrical systems, PLC’s, AC drives, and Servos drives
- Experience in maintaining mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, motors, gearboxes, and pumps. Additionally metal fabrication, cutting, welding, plumbing, pipefitting etc., along with some woodworking.
- Knowledge of air compressor(s), air dryer(s) and medium pressure air system(s) around 200 PSI Preventive Maintenance practices.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Understand or learn about fire suppression systems and related equipment that are essential to plant safety and production.
- Computer experience, Microsoft applications, electronic data entry methods (PLEX).
