Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Pay: $23.00 - $32.97 per hour

Shifts: 2nd (2pm-10pm) 3rd (10pm-6am)

Location: Crystal Lake, IL (onsite)


Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting abilities, a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all workplace safety policies, quality standards, and productivity requirements.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building systems; address deficiencies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, inspections, and repair documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational needs and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing solutions to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and team meetings to stay current on procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Complete additional tasks and assignments as directed by leadership while meeting established deadlines.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, reflective vests, and hard hats.
  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the facility.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting may be required.
  • Must have the physical strength and stamina to handle repetitive tasks and heavy equipment.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise mechanical work.
  • Overtime, extended shifts, and weekend work may be required based on production demands.
