Maintenance Technician

Houff Corporation is seeking a versatile and dependable employee to support multiple operational needs within the company. This position will primarily focus on mechanical maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment while also assisting with local commercial driving and general operational support. This role requires flexibility, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a variety of environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist with mechanical maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment

· Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently

· Operate commercial vehicles for local transportation needs when required

· Support general operational tasks across facilities as needed

· Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing job duties

· Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams

Requirements

· Ability to work comfortably at heights up to 60 feet

· Ability to work in confined spaces

· Willingness to travel to all Houff facilities including Weyers Cave, Doswell, Clifton Forge, and Rockbridge

· Flexible schedule (night or weekend work may occasionally be required)

· Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

· Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions

· Willingness to learn new skills and perform tasks outside of one’s comfort zone

· Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Class A CDL

Qualifications

· Previous experience in automotive repair or a technical trade

· Previous experience working in maintenance or industrial environments

· Welding experience

· Electrical experience

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• CDL Driving: 1 year (Preferred)
• Welding: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required)
• Maintenance: 1 year (Required)
• Electrical: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Class A CDL (Preferred)
