Maintenance Technician

Overview

We are looking for a Maintenance technician who can manage all five of our childcare centers. We have locations in Troy, Highland, Mascoutah, and Mt. Vernon. Some days will consist of painting the building or classrooms, cleaning up the yards and playgrounds, and doing weekly shopping trips for each center. The meeting place every day will be located in Highland, IL, where the company car is located. Keeping all five buildings in compliance with building codes and licensing standards!

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair various equipment including appliances, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and mechanical machinery using schematics and technical manuals.
• Conduct appliance repairs and service calls efficiently, diagnosing issues accurately and implementing effective solutions.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to facilitate precise repairs and installations.
• Assist with construction projects or upgrades related to facility maintenance as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Lead small maintenance teams or coordinate with contractors during complex repairs or installations to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system updates for accountability and future reference.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in appliance repair, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), and equipment repair.
• Proven service technician experience with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems efficiently.
• Familiarity with schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints for accurate diagnostics and repairs.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units and refrigeration technology.
• Ability to perform construction-related tasks or upgrades safely and effectively.
• Leadership skills to guide team members or coordinate with external contractors during maintenance projects.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
