Maintenance Technician - Cleveland Y

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance of facilities, vehicles, and other equipment at the Cleveland facility.

While the primary work location for this role will be at our Cleveland Family Y, the first several weeks of training will be in Chattanooga at one of the Family branches (Downtown, North River or Hamilton).

Hourly rate will start at $20 and will be based on experience and certifications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond to work orders in a timely manner; perform needed work or escalate major/emergency issues as appropriate.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance checks of facilities as a means of preventative maintenance; document needed maintenance/repairs.
• Perform routine/preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Perform minor electrical repairs.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs.
• Perform minor carpentry and finish repair work.
• Perform minor pool equipment maintenance and repair.
• Serve as liaison with outside contractors and facility specialists as needed.
• Maintain supply inventory.
• Support occasional maintenance projects at other branches as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience; certificate in advanced area of technical study preferred
• 2 years experience in facility maintenance, including familiarity with plumbing, heating, and electrical
• Must display high degree of professionalism and customer service

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to climb, stoop, bend, lift up to 50 pounds
