Under direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician I will undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as painting, HVAC maintenance, repairs, etc. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in performing mechanical, electrical, and general (plumbing, painting, carpentry, concrete patching, etc.) repairs to AMS’ facilities.
  • Escorts contractors and skilled laborers where necessary.
  • Troubleshoots and performs adjustments and/or repairs of furnishings and equipment.
  • Resetting storage racking as needed.
  • Drives company vehicles as assigned.
  • Fills in with general warehouse work as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in facilities maintenance or comparable construction trade.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willing and able to become forklift certified.
  • Mechanical abilities.
  • Comfortable with heights up to 60 feet.
  • Safe use and understanding of a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative.
  • Willing to work under different working conditions such as exposure to water, dust, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, and equipment noise and vibration with knowledge of the proper PPE.
  • Provide Form MVR from the Department of Motor Vehicles

Working Conditions

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely is a standing/walking role that uses standard janitorial/custodial equipment such as broom, vacuum, mop, various cleaners, etc.
