Description / Position Overview

Maintenance Technician II - Parking Meters
The City of Colorado Springs is ready to welcome a Maintenance Technician II to the Parking Meters team! In this position, you will maintain the cleanliness and safety of the City parking garages by performing janitorial, custodial, and basic building and grounds maintenance duties. You will perform ongoing routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, basic construction, and minor repairs.

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will:
  • Perform a variety of custodial and basic building and ground maintenance services
  • Remove trash and debris in and around parking garages
  • Empty trash receptacles
  • Perform basic landscape maintenance
  • Remove trash and debris from lawn area
  • Keep walkways and parking lots free of snow
  • Perform preventive maintenance on parking meters and other equipment as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:
  • Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
  • Cleaning practices and procedures
Ability to:
  • Follow approved sanitation and cleanliness standards
  • Safely and effectively operate assigned equipment, tools, and vehicles
  • Maintain an awareness of safety issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
  • Three years of full-time, professional experience in a related field
  • Possess or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary driver’s license not subject to restrictions
