We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our diverse production machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong electro-mechanical expertise to maintain and troubleshoot a range of equipment, including CNC Sheet Metal Fabrication, Plastic Injection Molding, and Surface Treatment systems. A strong focus on preventive maintenance, tool room support, and a commitment to safety is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all production equipment.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems.
- Support tool room operations, including the maintenance, repair, and modification of moulds, press tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Assist in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) for dimensional inspection and quality control.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic diagrams.
- Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records in compliance with safety and quality standards (e.g., ISO).
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize AutoCAD, UG NX, or equivalent CAD software for reviewing tooling and part designs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment with sheet metal fabrication and/or plastic injection molding.
Technical Skills:
- Essential: Proven ability to maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Essential: Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read schematics and use a multimeter.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: Experience with CNC punching machines and/or CNC panel bending machines is highly desirable. Knowledge of servo drives and CNC controls is a plus.
- Plastic Injection Molding: Solid understanding of the maintenance and operation of injection molding machines.
- Surface Treatment: Basic understanding of powder coating processes, oven controls, and conveyor systems.
- Tool Room: Strong knowledge of moulds, press tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Precision Measurement: Proficiency in using micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Software: Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software for technical reference.
Preferred Certifications:
- CNC Maintenance or Operation Certification
- Industrial Hydraulics & Pneumatics Certification
- Tool and Die Maker Certification
