Maintenance Technician - Streets

Position Summary:

Maintains and repair street and drainage systems and maintain grounds by performing various duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Repairs streets with asphalt, cold patching materials and concrete,

· Participates in all phases of street, drainage maintenance, repair, and construction,

· Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor,

· Cuts grass and trims weeds on organization’s property,

· Responsible for the cleaning and washing, maintaining, and servicing of tools and equipment,

· Assists other departments with public events,

· Must be able to work after hours call outs as needed,

· May be asked to perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma/GED required,
• Three (3) months related experience and/or training, preferred,
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or hot humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be very loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 75 pounds.
