Major Duties
Leads NA-8 maintenance workers in carrying out the assigned work as provided by the supervisor. Performs the day-to-day maintenance and repair of buildings, related fixtures, utilities, and equipment throughout the organization. Assists the supervisor in preparation of daily, weekly or monthly work schedules and ensures its compliance. Assists with the ordering of materials and equipment as needed. Updates progress of daily operation. Instruct subordinates in procedures. Provides advice, explains the work assignments and requirements. Provides recommendations for preparing with performance appraisals, interviews, counseling, awards, and requests for training as needed. Attends educational and training programs and meetings.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must have the ability to lead a work crew. Must possess a demonstrated comprehensive working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, painting, cement, plumbing and welding trades. Must be proficient in reading sketches, diagrams and specifications. Must be able to operate equipment such as air compressors, generators, and cement mixers. Must have skill in the use of a variety of hand tools commensurate with construction work. Must have knowledge in basic mathematics. May operate a motor vehicle more than 14,400 lbs to transport equipment, etc.
RESPONSIBILITY: Leads subordinates in carrying out the assigned work as provided by the supervisor. Informs the supervisor in the progress of work assignments. Assists in finding solution when problems arise. Maintains a current knowledge, and answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Assists the supervisor in identifying training needs for a team and individuals.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires prolonged standing; stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
WORKING CONDITION: Work is performed both inside and outside. Exposed to dirt, paint vapors and fumes. Must wear issued protective gear.

1. Furnish a copy of the PCS orders with reporting date to the new duty station and authorized move with spouse. If the spouse is not listed on the PCS orders, the spouse must provide documentation (i.e. marriage certificate, valid military ID, etc.) verifying marriage prior to PCS orders (must have been married to the military sponsor before relocation to the new duty station).
