Job Summary:
Repairs and maintains physical structures on grounds including carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs. This also requires doing layouts, estimates and materials lists.
Job Duties:
Repairs and maintains physical structures on grounds including carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs. This also requires doing layouts, estimates and materials lists. Builds and welds ball field fences and canopies. Forms and finishes cement work including floors, sidewalks, monuments and landscaping projects. Performs floor work as in carpet, tile and vinyl. Paints exterior and interior of buildings and structures. Operates backhoe, bucket truck, dump truck, ditch witch, mowers, tractors and other equipment. Performs all aspects of carpentry from framing to finish work. Electrical work including wiring buildings, wiring and hanging light fixtures, changing light bulbs, switches and lights. Plumbing work from installing and replacing or repairing existing plumbing to unclogging drains. Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimal supervisory responsibility (i.e. Lead position.)
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
One year certificate from college or technical school in Carpentry, Welding, Maintenance, Electrical or Plumbing; or one and one-half years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least two years experience in a related field.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to layout, design, estimate and form materials list for projects.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Must have knowledge of electrical and plumbing.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
