Male Phlebotomist/MA

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in blood collection and a commitment to providing excellent patient service. As a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing, contributing to the overall quality of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary draws for blood collection in accordance with established protocols.
• Ensure the use of aseptic techniques during all procedures to maintain patient safety and specimen integrity.
• Process specimens accurately for laboratory analysis, adhering to laboratory procedures and standards.
• Document patient information and laboratory results in compliance with medical terminology and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and record vital signs as needed, providing essential information for patient assessments.
• Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during the blood draw process.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate specimen handling and processing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in phlebotomy or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of physiology knowledge relevant to blood collection and patient care.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and specimen collection processing techniques.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
• Certification in phlebotomy or completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program is preferred.
