Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response & First Aid:
- Immediate Response: Provide swift and competent first aid and emergency medical treatment for all site injuries, illnesses, and emergencies, ensuring stabilization before external transfer if necessary.
- Incident Management: Coordinate effectively with the HSE team, local emergency services, and designated hospitals during critical incident management.
- Ambulance & Transfer: Oversee the readiness of site medical facilities and coordinate the safe and timely transfer of seriously injured workers to appropriate medical centers.
Primary Care & Clinic Management:
- Triage & Treatment: Manage the site clinic, performing basic triage, diagnosis, and treatment for minor ailments, cuts, abrasions, and non-serious illnesses, referring complex cases as required.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate inventory, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations for storage and dispensing.
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate, confidential, and comprehensive medical records, injury logs, and treatment reports in compliance with company and statutory requirements.
Occupational Health & Prevention:
- HSE Collaboration: Work closely with the HSE Officer/Engineer to identify and mitigate health-related risks, particularly those related to heat stress, fatigue, and occupational exposure.
- Health Monitoring: Conduct health surveillance programs, including monitoring workers for signs of heat exhaustion, providing necessary hydration advice, and ensuring fitness-to-work is maintained.
- Hygiene & Sanitation: Monitor site hygiene, sanitation standards, and catering facilities to prevent the outbreak of infectious diseases.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Licensing (Mandatory): Must possess a valid professional license (or eligibility) from a UAE health authority (DHA / HAAD / MOH) to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of post-registration experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to occupational health, industrial, or large-scale construction site medical services in the UAE/GCC.
- Certification: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Trauma Certification is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proven expertise in trauma care and wound management. Excellent command of English (written and verbal); proficiency in languages commonly spoken by the site workforce (e.g., Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam) is a significant asset for effective communication.
