Description

The City of Richmond Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Management Analyst, Associate to serve within Central Records. The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert and collaborate with departmental records administrators, Office of County Attorney, FOIA Office and DIT document management, platform technology and IT security practice areas, and information IT staff.



As assigned, the incumbent will serve as lead worker, assigning work and monitoring work completion. Incumbents may assist with supervising paraprofessional and support level staff including assisting with performance evaluations, coordinating training, and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Compile documentation of actions from all areas involved in the handling of any expungement order, and following up with correspondence in response to the order
  • Provide statistical reports derived from records management system either directly or through use of Crystal Reports as needed agency-wide
  • Research incident report errors involving arrests
  • Serve as an assistant records official in the management of legal document archives in conjunction with the Library of Virginia

Qualifications, Special Certifications and Licenses

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business/public administration or field related to assignment
  • Two years of paraprofessional experience in area related to assignment, such as assisting with program or project administration and management analysis
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification


LICENSING, CERTIFICATIONS, and OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some assignments may require a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, and a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License within 30 days of hire.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • General and special funds
  • Electronic databases and related software applications
  • Governmental accounting concepts
  • Intermediate to advanced level mathematics and statistics as applicable to appraisal measures and assessment ratio studies
  • Thorough knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

  • Analyzing and interpreting manuals and operating procedures
