Description of duties

The Manager, Analytics Services leads a cross-functional team responsible for transforming data into actionable insight, advancing audience and customer intelligence strategies, and strengthening digital engagement across the organization. The position provides leadership for analytics, marketing automation, and data governance practices that enable data-informed decision-making, personalized outreach, and continuous improvement. As a strategic partner to departments across SPIE, this leader ensures database health, supports rigorous experimentation, and aligns analytics efforts with broader enterprise data initiatives and modern cloud-based architecture. The Manager plays a central role in maturing SPIE’s enterprise analytics capabilities by bridging marketing intelligence, operational reporting, and future business intelligence efforts. Through Lean and Kaizen principles, the position also drives efficiency, improves insight delivery, and fosters strong cross-functional collaboration.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop a cross-functional team supporting audience strategy, data quality, reporting, analytics operations, and related technical processes.
  • Provide strategic direction for analytics services in support of customer intelligence, digital engagement, reporting, and enterprise data maturity.
  • Oversee automation, digital analytics, customer insights, and reporting platforms to ensure they are effective, well-governed, and aligned with business needs.
  • Lead audience segmentation strategies that support personalized outreach, campaign effectiveness, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Guide the development of dashboards, reporting solutions, and KPIs related to marketing performance, digital engagement, customer behavior, and database health.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to translate business needs into actionable metrics, analysis, recommendations, and scalable solutions.
  • Promote disciplined experimentation through testing, measurement planning, and performance evaluation across digital channels and customer touchpoints.
  • Support data governance, privacy, consent management, and data stewardship practices in collaboration with enterprise data and IT partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve self-service analytics, streamline workflows, reduce technical debt, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts using Lean and Kaizen principles to improve service delivery, data workflows, and team effectiveness.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Information Systems, Data Science, Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in analytics, marketing operations, customer intelligence, business intelligence, data strategy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of direct supervisory or people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, work prioritization, and staff development.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional analytics, reporting, or data-driven business initiatives that support organizational decision-making and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience overseeing marketing automation, digital analytics, customer insights, reporting, or related business systems in support of audience strategy, engagement, and performance measurement.
  • Experience developing or managing audience segmentation strategies, data quality practices, and reporting solutions that support customer engagement, operational effectiveness, and strategic planning.
  • Experience partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable analytics, reporting, governance, or process improvement solutions.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms, cloud-based reporting environments, or modern data architecture is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations, consent management practices, and responsible data stewardship is required.
  • Experience leading or supporting organizational change, platform transitions, process redesign, or analytics modernization efforts is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits package include:

· Salary range: $100,361 to $145,555 annually, depending on experience.

· Annual discretionary bonus opportunity.

· Medical, dental, and vision benefits provided, with 100% employer-paid premium for the employee and 75% employer-paid premium for dependents.

· Retirement contribution: SPIE provides an automatic 5% contribution, plus up to 5% matching contributions, with 25% vesting each year and 100% vesting after four years.

· Paid Time Off begins at 31 days per year.

· Health Savings Accounts partially funded by SPIE.

Location: Physical work location in Bellingham, WA. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
