Business Line Manager – Vacuum (ETO)
The Application Engineering & Proposals Manager leads the front-end technical and commercial proposal development for vacuum products and engineered systems of PFT division of IR.
- Lead end-to-end proposal preparation for liquid ring vacuum pumps, Liquid ring compressors, blowers, and other engineered system-based solutions for PFT division of IR.
- Review RFQs, customer specifications, process data sheets, and technical requirements.
- Develop technically optimized and competitive proposals including sizing, selection, system configuration, BOQs, costing, and techno-commercial offer preparation.
- Ensure proposals comply with applicable standards (API, ASME, ATEX, ISO, customer-specific standards).
- Analyze customer processes across industries and recommend optimal vacuum/blower solutions.
- Perform pump/system selection using selection tools, performance curves, and engineering calculations.
- Provide pre-order engineering support such as PFDs, preliminary P&IDs, GA inputs, and utility requirements.
- Manage and mentor a team of application engineers and proposal specialists
- Support regional sales with technical clarifications, presentations, and negotiations.
- Ensure proposal margin discipline and alignment with business profitability targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / chemical engineering.
- Min. 12–15 years of experience in application engineering, proposals, or system engineering for vacuum pumps or rotating equipment(s) & engineered packages/systems.
- Strong knowledge of Vacuum Technology, Rotary equipments, engineered Rotary packages
- Ability to read, interpret P&IDs, datasheets, and perform Heat, Mass Transfer & Pressure drop calculations.
- Engineering standards (API, ASME, ATEX, ISO, customer-specific standards).
- Proficiency with Application/Simulation softwares like Chemcad, ASPEN, and MS Office.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills to coach and develop Application team.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing ability.
- High attention to detail and analytical capability.
