Manager, Clinical Quality & Research

The Research and Quality Program Manager will provide operational and strategic oversight for clinical radiology research programs, medical education, quality, and safety. This role ensures alignment with organizational priorities, supports regulatory compliance, promotes standardized practices, and drives initiatives that enhance research productivity, patient care and staff engagement. A wide degree of knowledge, creativity and latitude is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Research, Medical Education, and Quality Leadership
  • Lead system-level initiatives to advance clinical research excellence, integrating quality improvement and patient safety standards across modalities.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for radiologists, staff, and trainees to ensure consistent adoption of best practices, standardization of procedures, and ongoing professional development.
  • Assist with coordinating medical students shadowing radiologists.
Clinical Research Program Oversight
  • Direct the development, governance, and strategic scaling of clinical research program, including workflow optimization, trial management, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Facilitate physician engagement as Principal Investigators and provide educational guidance on study conduct, compliance, and research methodology.
Regulatory & Compliance Leadership
  • Ensure full compliance with IRB requirements, federal regulations (e.g., ICH-GCP, 21 CFR, HIPAA), and organizational research policies.
  • Oversee audits, regulatory submissions, protocol lifecycle management, and SOP development to safeguard research integrity and readiness for inspections.
  • Incorporate regulatory and ethical standards into educational programs for staff and physicians.
Staff Leadership & Development
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance of research and medical education staff, fostering engagement and professional growth through regular communication and collaborative meetings.
  • Support teaching and mentorship opportunities, ensuring high-quality medical education while balancing clinical and research responsibilities.
Financial & Resource Management
  • Develop and monitor research budgets, optimize resource allocation, and ensure billing compliance to support financially sustainable clinical trials.
  • Evaluate and implement efficiencies that maximize research output, improve throughput, and minimize low-value activities.
Strategic Collaboration, Reporting & Education
  • Organize study data and prepare presentations for internal leadership, hospital administration, and external stakeholders.
  • Engage across departments to enhance operational efficiency, study throughput, staff utilization, and educational outcomes.
  • Promote continuing medical education and professional development aligned with system-level goals.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Serve as a system liaison for hospital quality, risk, research, and education programs, supporting organizational priorities and assuming other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:
  • Preferred bachelor or master’s in business, healthcare administration, or other healthcare field
  • Any of the following: ARRT, CPHQ, CMQ/OE,
Experience (years and type):
  • 5 to 8 years in the field of Radiology
  • Research, quality improvement, and medical education in a healthcare setting, preferably radiology or medical practice.
Travel Required (% of time):
  • 0-25%
