The Manager of Concrete Construction oversees all aspects of concrete operations, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, field coordination, crew management, and quality control. This role ensures that concrete work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and company objectives.
Develop and manage concrete construction plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to meet project milestones.
Review project drawings, specifications, and technical documents to plan work activities.
Supervise and support concrete crews in daily operations such as formwork, reinforcement, placement, finishing, and curing.
Ensure proper equipment, materials, and manpower are available on-site.
Monitor progress and adjust work plans as needed to maintain schedule.
Ensure concrete work meets engineering standards, specifications, and building codes.
Oversee inspection and testing (slump, cylinders, reinforcement placement, etc.).
Implement quality assurance processes and correct deficiencies promptly.
Enforce company and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
Conduct job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and site safety inspections.
Promote a culture of safety and accountability across crews.
Track labor hours, equipment usage, and material quantities to ensure cost control.
Assist in preparing and reviewing budgets, estimates, and proposals.
Approve purchase orders and manage vendor and subcontractor relationships.
Lead, train, and mentor concrete foremen, lead hands, and labor crews.
Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
Foster teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in concrete construction (commercial, industrial, civil, or residential).
Strong knowledge of concrete materials, formwork systems, rebar placement, finishing techniques, and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficient in scheduling, project management, and construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
Understanding of safety regulations (OSHA or regional equivalent)
Proven leadership experience supervising field crews.
