About the Position

BharatCares® is looking for a seasoned professional to join as Manager – CSR & Road Safety, based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The role will lead the design, implementation, and scaling of CSR-funded road safety initiatives in collaboration with corporate partners, government authorities, and ecosystem stakeholders.

The Manager will play a critical role in translating road safety challenges into impact-driven, scalable CSR programs, aligned with national road safety priorities, ESG goals, and public systems strengthening.

Responsibilities

1. CSR Program Design & Management (Road Safety Focus)

  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and monitoring of CSR-funded road safety programs.
  • Design interventions across Education, Engineering, Enforcement, and Emergency Response (4Es).
  • Ensure programs are aligned with corporate CSR objectives, SDGs, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, partners, and on-ground implementation teams.

2. Government Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with traffic police, urban local bodies, transport departments, health departments, and district administrations.
  • Support coordination with state and city-level road safety committees and authorities.
  • Represent BharatCares® in government meetings, reviews, and joint planning sessions.
  • Build long-term partnerships with government and ecosystem stakeholders.

3. Technical Advisory & Solution Design

  • Conduct situational assessments, road safety diagnostics, and need-based analysis.
  • Support road safety audits, black spot identification frameworks, and low-cost engineering solutions.
  • Provide advisory on enforcement strengthening, technology-based interventions, and post-crash response systems.
  • Benchmark initiatives against national and global best practices (MoRTH, WHO, IRC, World Bank, etc.).

4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Define impact metrics and outcome indicators for road safety programs.
  • Track progress, analyze data, and flag implementation risks or gaps.
  • Prepare MIS reports, donor updates, government submissions, and impact dashboards.
  • Document learnings, case studies, and best practices for scale-up.

5. CSR Proposals & Partner Engagement

  • Lead development of concept notes, proposals, and DPRs for corporate CSR partners.
  • Support corporate engagements, presentations, and reporting reviews.
  • Act as a technical and programmatic point of contact for CSR donors.

6. Team & Operations Support

  • Guide and mentor project teams, consultants, and field staff.
  • Support capacity-building workshops, trainings, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Take up strategic and special assignments as required by leadership.

Mandatory Qualification and Experience:

  • Postgraduate degree in Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Social Work, or Development Studies.
  • 6–8 years of experience in road safety, CSR programs, urban development, transport planning, or public systems projects.
  • Prior experience working with government departments, CSR foundations, consulting firms, or multilateral agencies is highly preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of road safety systems and public-sector programs.
  • Experience in managing CSR-funded or donor-funded projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and proposal-writing abilities.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Hindi (Gujarati is a plus).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.

Reporting & Work Location

  • The role will be based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  • Reporting to the designated senior leadership within BharatCares®.
  • Regular travel to project locations and government offices is expected.
