American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) offers powerful backing and support that helps companies of all sizes gain financial savings, control, and efficiency. We provide a suite of payment and lending products, solutions for travel and everyday business spending, cross border payments, global currency solutions, and business financing. The Global Commercial Services Marketing team is responsible for creating an end-to-end global marketing strategy and distribution plan for our prospect & customer segments around the world.

The GCS Marketing Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement team, as part of Global Commercial Services within American Express, is responsible for overseeing marketing analytics, data products, data platforms, investment optimization and marketing enablement specific to the Global Commercial Services (GCS) business.

About the role:

This position will report to the Marketing Measurement Tracking team lead within the GCSM AIM team. This team is responsible for performance tracking and marketing analytics across the GCS Marketing organization with a particular focus on US SME Customer. This individual should have a strong interest in transforming data into insights that drive strategic business decisions. This role will provide significant opportunity to work closely with variety of partners (Marketing, Finance, Strategy, IO, Product, Risk, Platform etc.) to analyze customer behavior, evaluate marketing campaign performance. Your insights will empower senior leaders to make data-informed choices, improve ROI, and deliver outstanding results for our customers.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Lead accurate and timely reporting of monthly business performance, enabling transparency and informed decision-making for leadership teams.
  • Drive return on investment measurement and marketing effectiveness assessments to guide investment decisions and optimize campaign outcomes.
  • Spearhead campaign analysis to uncover trends, actionable insights, and performance indicators that influence product and marketing strategies and drive growth, retention, and customer satisfaction.
  • Building Data Capabilities and Data Products for effective marketing measurement tracking
  • Lead all aspects of automation and continuous improvement in analytical processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders, business partners and senior leaders to assess business needs, evaluate project feasibility, ensure data integrity, and provide actionable recommendations in times of constant change
  • Manage a team of 5-6 analysts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python with a strong analytical skill to manipulate data and generate actionable insights
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills—able to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across teams and geographies with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Big Data platforms and familiarity with commercial products will be a plus.
