Job Purpose

The Manager - Dive Operations is a site-based operational leadership role responsible for the establishment, launch, and ongoing management of the dive center at the assigned asset within The Red Sea destination. The role plays a critical part in building operational readiness, recruiting and developing a high-performing dive team, and ensuring that all facilities, systems, and processes are implemented in line with international best practices and brand standards.

Once operational, the Manager - Dive Operations is accountable for the safe, efficient, and commercially successful delivery of all diving and underwater tourism activities. This includes oversight of daily operations, guest experience excellence, safety and compliance, team performance, environmental stewardship, and revenue generation, while ensuring alignment with sustainability commitments and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

General Operations

  • Report directly to the Dive Operations Senior Manager and support the establishment and ongoing operation of the dive center at the assigned asset.
  • Ensure the smooth, safe, and professional day-to-day running of the dive center.
  • Support the Galaxea Cluster Manager in the development and operational planning of additional dive centers across other assets, as required.
  • Lead, develop, and manage the dive operations team, which may include up to 13 staff members.
  • Collaborate with Sustainability and SEZ departments to ensure full alignment with sensitive and high-profile environmental requirements related to marine life and underwater tourism.
  • Ensure all Galaxea colleagues comply with the DSM Red Sea Global Dive Safety Manual and all applicable policies.
  • Work remotely when required and attend office locations as operational needs dictate.

Establishment of Dive Center - Pre-Opening

  • Work closely with the Galaxea Cluster Manager to plan, develop, and deliver the dive center and all associated operational components.
  • Coordinate with relevant RSG departments during the delivery phase to ensure milestones, timelines, and operational readiness targets are achieved.
  • Support operational phasing, testing, and commissioning to ensure the dive center is delivered as designed and fit for purpose.

Establishment of Dive Center - Post-Opening

  • Maintain and enforce high operational standards, with safety as the highest priority at all times.
  • Ensure all diving and underwater tourism activities are conducted professionally and in compliance with international and agency standards.
  • Oversee the delivery of dive training and certification courses, ensuring instructors adhere strictly to training agency requirements and conservative safety practices.
  • Ensure accurate, up-to-date records are maintained for all dive center activities, certifications, incidents, and maintenance logs.
  • Plan, direct, analyze, and coordinate all dive-related sales activities, including retail operations and ancillary revenue streams.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, partners, and guests.

Media Coverage

  • Support the Destination Development department, when required, in facilitating photo and video media coverage.
  • Media support is secondary to operational responsibilities and will be undertaken only when requested by the Galaxea Cluster Manager or senior management.
  • Implement and adhere to all functional policies, standard operating procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent and controlled operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely operational reports, KPIs, and MIS statements in line with corporate requirements.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management systems to ensure guest and employee safety, legal compliance, service excellence, and responsible environmental practices.
  • Actively promote a strong safety culture and environmental responsibility across all dive center operations.
  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on international best practices, operational efficiency, cost optimization, productivity, and enhanced guest experience.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • PADI Instructor (or equivalent recognized certification)
  • Minimum of 500 logged dives
  • Certified at least 50 students across core dive courses
  • Proven experience in dive center and/or resort operations across multiple geographic locations
  • Strong background in dive business operations and/or hospitality
  • Demonstrated experience in diving health and safety
  • Equipment management and dive retail experience
  • Marine conservation awareness and involvement
  • Valid Fit-to-Dive medical
  • Underwater photography and/or videography skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Outstanding customer service mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Flexible, open-minded, and adaptable to dynamic environments
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional dive and guest experiences
  • Solid technical knowledge of dive equipment and maintenance requirements
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong time management skills
  • Experience managing high-end clientele and resolving guest issues professionally
  • Strong leadership and role-modeling capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments
  • High standards of confidentiality and professional conduct
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
