We are seeking an experienced Electrical Primary Design Engineer for HV/EHV GIS & AIS substation projects. The role involves handling pre-bid and detailed engineering, including layouts, equipment sizing, grounding, busbar design, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Gulf experience is mandatory.

Review tender documents, technical specifications, and project requirements

Prepare conceptual primary layouts, GA drawings, and SLDs
-
Develop preliminary BOQs, equipment sizing, and quantity take-offs
-
Propose optimized layouts considering cost, space, safety, and constructability
-
Coordinate with estimation and proposal teams
-
Interface with OEMs/vendors for technical data and inputs
-
Identify technical risks, deviations, and value-engineering opportunities
-
Support technical clarifications and bid evaluations

Prepare and review:
-
General Arrangement (GA) & layout drawings
-
Equipment layout plans and sectional views
-
Cable routing and earthing layouts
-
Busbar calculations and drawings
-
HV equipment interconnection details
-
Perform equipment sizing and selection:
-
Circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, surge arresters, etc.

Conduct electrical and mechanical clearance studies
-
Develop and review substation grounding (earthing) design
-
Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, CBIP and client standards
-
Coordinate with secondary design, civil, and protection teams

Participate in design reviews and client/consultant meetings
-
7–10 years in Electrical Primary Design

Strong experience in GIS & AIS substations (HV/EHV up to 380kV)
-
Gulf experience mandatory
-
Saudi project experience preferred
