Job Purpose: Head of Section - Mechanized Handling System (MHS) is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the port's mechanized handling systems. This role ensures the high availability of Grab Ship Unloaders (GSU) cranes and oversees mechanical maintenance, structural inspections, spare parts planning, budgeting, and the management of MHS systems.Also tasked with executing new projects, managing technology, ensuring safety, and fostering employee development.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Reliability:

Review and manage the maintenance status of MHS equipment, implementing best practices for predictive and preventive maintenance to enhance equipment reliability.

Project Management

Plan and execute civil-related internal projects, manage project execution by PMC, and develop vendors for better material availability and cost optimization.

Budget Control

Prepare and monitor revenue and Capex budgets, managing inventory costs of spare parts and consumables within budget constraints.

Safety And Compliance

Ensure safety during maintenance activities, maintain IMS certification, and adhere to all statutory compliance requirements.

Equipment Availability

Ensure on-time preventive maintenance schedule adherence, effective utilization of R&M budget, and maintain safety performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Coordinate with other departments to optimize equipment utilization and execute major maintenance and overhauling jobs.

Spare Parts And Manpower Planning

Manage the planning of spares and manpower for significant maintenance activities and monitor consumables to ensure equipment availability.

Maintenance Monitoring

Oversee daily reports and MIS to track maintenance history and coordinate internal audits for IMS compliance.

SAP And Safety Management

Maintain data in the SAP PM module and conduct safety meetings to develop new ideas and encourage an agile approach to growth prospects.

Ensure Adani's brand values are shown in all interactions. Strengthen relationships to boost the organization's brand and trust within the market and company.

Qualifications

Education Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master’s degree

Work Experience

Minimum 10-15 years experience in material handling systems
