This role is accountable for planning, budgeting, commissioning, and overseeing enterprise and technical applications while coordinating with vendors, IT infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders. The role supports adoption of cloud, data platforms, and advanced analytics (including LLM and Geo-AI) to enable efficient technical workflows.
Responsible for assessing & deploying as per company’s digital ecosystem and IT vision & model, managing and enabling the enterprise applications, technical databases, and digital application platforms. The incumbent would support Exploration, Drilling, Development and Production functions across the E&P lifecycle. The role ensures reliable, secure, and scalable application and data platforms, act as the IT Business Partner for technical functions, and oversee internal teams and vendors for effective service
The incumbent must support, lead, manage and live by the Company Code of Conduct, Values, HSE and other Policies and Guidelines.
Key Accountabilities:
Planning, budgeting, commissioning

Proposals with plans / budgets and Commissioning of key elements of digital ecosystem for tech databases & Apps as per Technical Data & Apps Platform Vision & Model of FPCL.

Cloud-based computing models and OSDU consistent data sets. Smooth consumption of technical databases & applications generated data thru LLM and Geo-AI,

Ensuring all unstructured data are put into data funnel and accessible to LLM and Apps through CIP (continual improvement process/ cycle)
Manage Licenses, budgets & M&S

Manage application licenses, maintenance, subscriptions, budgets, and managed services.

Coordinate and oversee vendors and consultants, ensuring SLA compliance and cost optimization.

Ensure continuity of services with no production downtime.
Projects of technical depts
-
Support for IT related infrastructure/tools/services as ITBP

Based on project scope / activities, provide guidance and engage IT resources (materials, consultancy, software support) as per project timelines and budgets.

Evaluate, recommend and deploy changes in Apps & IT Services based on user feedbacks. Supervise the App go-live activities and user satisfaction.
Data Management and Processes & Guidelines

Deploy DAMA-DMBOK framework & best practices guidelines while ensuring data sanitization, data standards, structured and linked master data repositories and integrated database & Apps platforms.

Write Processes & Guideline documents in collaboration with the Subsurface Geoscience & Engineering experts on ensuring various datasets governance, naming / archiving / warehousing consistency.

Serve on Technical IT Steering Committee.
ITBP for technical functions

Serve as strategic interface for assess, proposing and deploying the new software & data and solutions technologies and best practices. Propose and arrange relevant learning & development of FPCL staff.

Act as consistent point of contact between function & IT. Service management, risk management and relationship management. First stop for any needs. Manage all incidents and service requests either directly or through support staff.

Act as a Point of escalation for the business for unresolved application issues, whilst setting expectations of service level agreements. Work with IT vendors to assign ownership of issues.
Team Leadership

Input to the FP IT strategy, strategic actions, Apps & Data platforms’ on-premise to Cloud move as company setup grows over the next 1-3 years,

Coach and develop direct reports, assist in building a high-performing team, and support professional growth,

Play an active role in shaping FPCL’s culture by demonstrating the right behaviors in line with FPCL’s values,

Mentoring the staff and GTs.
Education, Knowledge and Experience
-
Qualification
: BS, preferably Master’s degree, in Computer Sciences / Telecommunications / Information systems or closely related Engineering field.

Experience:
More than 15 years as System analyst, Applications & database support or IT Engineer in Upstream or similar digital environment. +5 years as team lead or independently delivering expert/ consultant.

Applications Experience:
Proficiency in ERP applications (SAP, Dynamics, IFS, Oracle EBS, etc), business processes automations & re-engineering. Databases (Microsoft SQL, Embedded SQL DBS. Petro-Technical systems’ data & interpretated data handling/ management experience (DSG, Petrel, Eclips, ArcGIS, MERAK, etc). Handle on integration between systems, data management and applications portfolio management. Course attendance certificates or eqv job experience evidence in place.
