Job Description:
Conducts training sessions to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Plans, monitors, and appraises job results to ensure high performance and accountability. Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures to maintain organizational standards. Ensures a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project success. Oversees application team operations to deliver IT services and assess user needs. Communicates system issues with other teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution. Manages the release process, performance objectives, and continuous improvement activities. Provides guidance and acts as a resource for analysts, project managers, and consultants. Other duties as assigned. Manages teams to perform required support activities and ensures efficient operations. Leads complex projects with minimal supervision, ensuring timely and successful completion. Identifies and engages subject matter experts across departments to enhance project outcomes. Facilitates operations by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, and implementing productivity standards. Recruits, selects, orients, and trains employees to build a competent and effective team. Develops personal growth opportunities for staff through coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Demonstrates advanced functional knowledge of one of the following applications: Epic Beaker (Genlab, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Anatomic Pathology, Outreach Services, Medical Device Integration, Point of Care Device Integration or Reference Lab Interfaces). [Required]
- Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in one of the discipline or fields mentioned above [Required]
- Epic Certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes [Required]
- Experience leading teams and providing feedback [Required]
- Mature, independent professional judgment and ability to work with no supervision [Required]
- Advanced ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities and projects within deadline constraints [Required]
- Advanced knowledge of HL7 concepts and operating within an integrated healthcare applications environment [Required]
- High degree of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise of clinical/technical workflows [Required]
- Technical skills and aptitudes in computer-related applications or functions in Information Systems-related aspects of laboratory testing and processes [Required]
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills [Required]
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills [Required]
- Ability to read text and numbers in English, and comprehend, measure, calculate, reason, and match [Required]
- Rapid learner [Required]
- Microsoft Office suite experience; proficient in PowerPoint and Visio presentations [Required]
- Knowledge of clinical/revenue cycle/business/technical workflow preferred [Preferred]
Education:- Bachelor's [Required]
- Master's [Preferred]
Field of Study:- College Degree (B.A., B.S., or commensurate experience) in Chemical or Biological Science, healthcare-related field, or Information Technology.
- Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations.
- in Healthcare, Informatics, Computer Science or Business administration; all with related healthcare experience
Work Experience:- 5+ analytical, and/or technical experience in clinical or anatomic laboratory setting, laboratory information systems or it healthcare field, specifically in systems applications and programs [Required]
- 5+ Clinical laboratory and/or Lab IT experience [Required]
- 5+ experience documenting workflow design and identifying areas for improvement [Required]
- EMR application/implementation experience [Preferred]
- Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience [Required]
