Responsible for maintaining the operational and transactional responsibilities of the department. Manages the coordination of day to day activities of a specific business function. What You'll Do:
- Supervises a team of specialists and manages strategy, design, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and recognition of partnerships between families and schools for the purpose of deepening family involvement and engagement.
- Establishes procedures for identifying school Family School Community Partnerships (FSCP) needs in the district and connects family liaisons to resources, supports and opportunities aligned to the needs.
- Develops and implements projects, programs, and partnerships that are mutually beneficial between schools and the District that enhance parent involvement and family engagement, student achievement and authentic relationships
- Supports school-level family engagement liaisons in accessing and implementing the research, policies and high-impact practices of family-school-community partnerships
- Oversees and supports execution and implementation of the the Parent Teacher Home Visit Program (PTHV), including supervisory aspects as needed
- Broadly supports academic partnerships, school and leader trainings, new educator and CSC district Wide Trainings, providing support in navigating school governance, FSCP and implementing at school sites, including supervisory aspects as needed
- Oversees creation and management of several databases and processes for PTHV and FSCP/liaison related work
- Oversees monthly training programs for FSCP Initiatives and PTHV throughout the year and develops and coordinates extended family and community engagement events
Maintains and updates FSCP and PTHV information on the District website and reports on progress; in addition any other initiatives of importance
What You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma/GED - Required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Supervisory experience and skills- Required
- Two (2+) plus years of direct experience as a family liaison, supporting a school, or overseeing/supporting/training district wide liaisons - Preferred
Two (3+) plus years of experience leading a large district Parent Teacher Home Visit Program or similar - Preferred
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and program best practices for Family Engagement
- Strong organizational and analytic skills and strong attention to detail
- Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive (versus, reactive) manner
- Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources
- Ability to motivate and influence others
- Demonstrated proficiency with Google products including docs, sheets, slides and gmail
- Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel
- High degree of integrity in handling confidential information
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team
- Bilingual skills in Spanish or any Denver Public Schools Consent Decree Language - Preferred
- Demonstrated grant writing knowledge useful
