Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Federal Sales to lead our Federal Sales team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong background in federal procurement, sales leadership, and customer relationship management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving growth, mentoring teams, and navigating the complexities of the federal marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, mentor, and train the Federal Sales team to drive performance and professional growth
  • Sell Cisco and other OEM products and solutions to federal agencies and offices
  • Manage the federal sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely progression of deals
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Contracts, and Proposals teams to develop compliant responses to RFPs and RFQs
  • Navigate federal procurement vehicles (e.g., GSA, IDIQ, GWACs) and ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations
  • Monitor federal market trends, funding priorities, and policy changes to identify new business opportunities
  • Travel with Federal Outside Sales Executives to support pre-sales activities and customer engagements
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both prospective and existing clients, fostering long-term relationships
  • Estimate delivery timelines based on product availability and company delivery schedules
  • Manage multiple purchase orders simultaneously, including data entry and updates in the company’s ERP system
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive and proprietary information
  • Consistently adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with department heads, managers, colleagues, and customers
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, presenting ideas and reporting information concisely
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive and courteous service
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., warehouse, service) and external manufacturer technical support as needed
  • Participate in ongoing training, seminars, and courses to maintain up-to-date technical skills and product knowledge
  • Manage personal workflow efficiently, proactively resolving issues and seeking guidance when necessary
  • Demonstrate reliability by meeting established attendance and punctuality standards
  • Comply with all safety and security protocols to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of federal sales experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
  • Proven track record of successfully selling to federal agencies, consistently meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar quotas
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement processes, acquisition strategies, and contracting vehicles (e.g., GSA, IDIQ, GWACs)
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales pipeline management tools

What Sets You Apart

  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (such as FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC)
  • Experience working with or within a federal agency or system integrator
