Organization Unit Purpose
Financial Institutions Group (FIG) provides financial services to its clients comprising of FIs, NBFIs, Sovereigns and Supra national entities. Based on the bank’s requirements, FIG also raises funding for the bank from various relationship banks. FIG Business Support unit is part of the C&IB - Business Support & Governance and specializes in supporting Financial Institution Group (FIG). Unit supports FIG with the execution of various transactions approved by FIG which include loans, borrowings and asset distribution.
Unit is also responsible for driving and implementing various initiatives aligned with the bank strategies and facilitating projects to meet current and future organizational needs with respect to FI customer services, operations, compliance etc.
Job Purpose
Primary objective is to ensure execution of documentation and transactions aligned to the documentation framework and credit approvals, ensure compliance with polices, maintain robust controls, and attain operational efficiency while executing FI transactions without compromising risk standards.
The job holder shall facilitate agreement finalization and extend operational support for transactions involving financial institutions, sovereigns, and supranational entities. The job holder shall be responsible managing the day-to-day activities of the C&IB FIG – Business Support team and shall be accountable for the effective, efficient and compliant execution of various transactions, while ensuring highest standards in customer service.

Service Delivery
- Support FIG with the agreement and transaction execution relating to various FI assets and liabilities for FIG clients including banks, NBFIs, sovereigns and multilateral entities
- Prepare and negotiate LMA agreements, Master Risk Participation Agreements, Master Trade Loan agreements, non-disclosure agreements, other master agreements, transactional agreements and associated security documentation in relation to syndications/club loans, bilaterals loans, trade loans secondary market sale / purchase, trade finance programs and risk participations for both conventional and Islamic transactions.
- Lead the legal documentation due diligence by liaising with business, counterparties, agents, other stakeholders, and internal and external legal counsel as and when required in the review of syndication loans, bank borrowings and other specialized transactions.
- Review all legal agreements and documentation for consistency, timeliness, accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with the bank's policies, credit approval terms and conditions, and pricing approvals.
- Manage day-to-day activities of the FIG operations including but not limited to lodgement and disbursements, repayments, selldown administration etc.
- Review and periodically update the template documents with the support of Group Legal.
Transaction life cycle management / compliance
- Achieve same-day turnaround for all internal and external customer inquiries, maintaining zero instances of complaints or escalations.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders such as Group Compliance, Group Tax, Credit Administration etc for the transaction review, execution and administration.
- Analyze / assess process risks and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations to protect the bank’s interests.
- Develop and update documentation policies, guidelines, frameworks and templates
- Act as the point of policy and procedural reference for the unit.
Process Improvement / Projects
- Drive continuous improvement: streamline workflows, standardize documentation, and adopt best practices.
- Provide strategic and operational oversight and ensure the respective systems/platforms are optimized and integrated while ensuring they are scalable, and synergies are leveraged.
- Plan, manage and implement assigned projects to deliver results as per the business case
Team and stakeholder management
- Train and guide the business support team to deliver the services effectively.
- Liaise with various stakeholders to ensure best service delivery to the customer
Education
Graduate, preferably with a finance or legal background
Experiences
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a banking environment out of which at least 5 years’ experience in credit documentation.
- Managerial experience in a similar environment.
Knowledge Areas
- In depth knowledge of credit facility documentation including security documentation
- Strong knowledge of LMA and BAFT documentation
- Sound knowledge of FI, trade and treasury products including Islamic products
- Knowledge of credit appraisal processes and considerations
- Understanding of loan transaction life cycle
- Knowledge of various policies and frameworks
