About the Role
The Hunar Foundation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Finance (Business Partner) to oversee financial planning, budgeting, grants management, and donor fund utilization. The role requires a strategic finance professional capable of providing insights, ensuring compliance, and driving financial sustainability across projects and donor-funded programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a 3-year Strategic Financial Plan aligned with organizational goals and future projects.
- Coordinate with departments to prepare annual budgets using Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) principles and consolidate them into a comprehensive organizational budget.
- Lead grants and donor funds management, ensuring transparent utilization, timely reporting, and compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee endowment fund creation and management, ensuring self-sustainability of key projects through investment yields.
- Generate and maintain monthly management reports covering donations, endowment positions, project cash flows, and expenditure vs. budget performance.
- Support the Audit Committee and external auditors by providing accurate financial information and ensuring internal audit recommendations are implemented.
- Monitor the financial performance and accountability of finance staff across project locations.
- Ensure compliance with the Societies Act and support transition to Section 42 Company registration in coordination with legal advisors.
- Manage relationships with tax consultants to ensure zero tax exposure and regulatory compliance.
- Uphold strong financial governance by aligning costs with revenue and optimizing expenditures to build reserves.
- Enhance organizational credibility through timely payroll processing and vendor payments.
Qualifications & Skills
- MBA (Finance) / ACCA / CA (Finalist) with 10–12 years of relevant experience in finance, preferably in the nonprofit, donor-funded, or development sector.
- Proven experience in grants management, donor fund accounting, and compliance reporting.
- Strong command of English and excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and financial management software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.
