Responsibilities:
The HR Program Manager is responsible for facilitating the immigration program for Powerback. They will work closely with colleagues in HR, operations, outside immigration counsel, and other support departments to smoothly guide and support foreign national staff through the nonimmigrant and immigrant visa sponsorship process. This position will also collaborate with HR teams, senior leaders, and other departments to gather and interpret data thereby facilitating strategic workforce development planning. Additionally, this role involves processing and managing employee data requests, including data combination and HR data analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Works directly with foreign nationals to gather documents necessary to prepare immigration filings and respond to requests for evidence, provide status updates, and answer questions throughout the course of the foreign nationals’ sponsorship with Powerback.
Coordinates with outside counsel on possible visa options for new hires and permanent resident options for existing employees holding nonimmigrant status. Discusses recommendations with HR, recruiting, operations and foreign nationals as appropriate. Advises HR, recruiting, and operations on best practices and cost management for candidates regarding nonimmigrant and immigrant sponsorship. Communicates decisions and implements strategy regarding immigration sponsorship.
Tracks expiration of current foreign national employees’ immigration status and works with outside counsel to ensure renewal petitions are filed in a timely manner before the immigration status expiration.
Tracks immigration spending and reviews immigration invoices for accuracy. Works with the finance team to ensure that legally recoverable costs are collected when foreign nationals leave before satisfying their work commitment. Coordinates and processes check requests from outside counsel.
Keeps foreign national, management team, and Human Resources updated as issues arise that impact foreign nationals’ employment with Powerback. In coordination with outside counsel, provides guidance to foreign national and management teams as questions and issues arise.
Creates and maintains general immigration files for all current and archived immigration matters, including maintenance of audit files in connection with H-1B and PERM regulations.
Coordinates with outside counsel to complete all steps in the green card application process for the foreign national employee, including filing of necessary petitions and the required recruitment steps both internal and external.
Serves as an advisor for Human Resources in completing/updating I-9 forms for employees holding immigration status. Reviews cases, conducts research, and provides guidance for completing/reverifying I-9s.
Collaborates with HR leadership, senior leaders, and cross-functional departments to collect and analyze workforce data such as career pathways, leadership development, and knowledge gaps.
Interprets data to identify trends, opportunities, and gaps that inform strategic workforce development planning.
Partners with company leaders to turn analysis into actionable recommendations that support long-term staff and organizational goals.
Ensures data-driven decision making by delivering clear analyses and summaries to leaders across the organization.
Makes recommendations for employee engagement initiatives based on data analysis.
Processes and analyzes employee data reports, combining multiple spreadsheets at times.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
At least two years of HR experience.
Prior immigration experience is preferred.
Posted Salary Range: USD $75,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
