Manager I Finance

We are seeking a Manager I in our finance team based in our Mumbai office reporting to Senior Finance Managers in Hong Kong offices and dotted reporting to Local finance lead.

This is an exciting role with the opportunity to learn, and be responsible for, Accounting and Taxation across North APAC countries. It’s important for this individual to take responsibility for all tasks and handle sensitive financial matters with integrity.

The day-to-day responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage monthly book closure, including general ledger scrutiny and reconciliations preparation.
  • Post timely month-end journal entries and prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate accounting records under US GAAP And Local GAAP.
  • Ensure relevant transactions are recorded timely and accurately in accounts.
  • Prepare local GAAP financial statements for Audit and Tax calculations purposes.
  • Maintain and update the Fixed Assets Register in compliance with relevant local GAAP and policies.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements in line with regulatory requirements under relevant laws.
  • Manage and work with external auditors regarding audit approach, documentation, support, and processes and ensure timely and accurate delivery of audit work papers, schedules and data requests (planning, interim, and final).
  • Manage the full cycle of direct and indirect tax compliance, accounting and reconciliation, including:
    • Withholding tax computation and returns Preparing advance and final tax computations
    • support tax team for information required from accounting perspective for Income Tax, Transfer Pricing and other tax returns
    • Handle GST/VAT / indirect tax accounting and compliance, including computations, returns and reconciliations:
  • Oversee other non-financial regulatory filings, as applicable.
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory notices from tax authorities, including preparing data and coordinating with internal and external counterparts from tax department and tax advisors.
  • Assist with Legal Entity rationalizations that involve preparation of accounting records, tax perspective and administrative activities including managing cross-functional co-ordination to wind down non-operating entities in compliance with regulations.
  • Seek and implement opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting operations through technology, including better utilization of financial and accounting software. Help implement relevant local and regional procedures and controls to ensure adoption and adherence.
  • Assist the managers in other duties as assigned to meet team and organizational needs.

Essential traits:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 3–4 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong background in accounting, finance, taxation, and statutory audits—preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Experience with GIFT City entities is a plus.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft D365 accounting platform and Power BI is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods (e.g., book closures, annual audits and statutory filings).
