We are a locally owned ACE Hardware store. We have four locations in the Columbus area; Westerville, Sunbury, Johnstown, and New Albany.

Position Summary:

As a Manager In Training, you will work with the management team maintaining the daily operations of the store. This includes managing sales, expenses, profits, and assets of the store while

ensuring all customers are receiving a high level of customer service consistent with our Ace helpful brand. In addition, as store manager you will

also be responsible for associate development, merchandising, inventory control, safety, human resources and loss prevention in order to promote sales

and meet profit goals. Exceptional customer service skills, strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and follow through skills are required.

Responsibilities of a Manager In Training (to assist Store Manager w/ the Following)

  • Recruiting and appraising staff
  • Training and supervising staff
  • Managing budgets
  • Maintaining financial and statistical records
  • Dealing with customer complaints and queries
  • Overseeing stock and pricing control
  • Maximizing profitability and productivity
  • Motivating staff to meet sales targets
  • Setting sales targets
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations
  • Preparing promotional displays and materials
  • Liaising with management
  • Taking care of promotional prospects, benefits, and salaries of their staff
  • Providing opportunities for staff advancements

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Training:

High School degree, some college preferred. Posses a vast product knowledge of hardware

related products along with a willingness to learn

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years retail management

experience

  • Skills/Knowledge: Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and

holidays to meet the needs of the business
