The Manager in Training (MIT) program is designed to prepare future leaders by providing immersive, cross-functional training across multiple departments at Holliday Rock. This role offers hands-on experience in key operational areas such as safety, mining, ready-mix concrete, dispatch, sales, fleet, procurement, quality control, and community relations. MIT will gain a broad understanding of the business and develop critical leadership, operational, and decision-making skills, positioning them for future management opportunities within the organization.
- Participate in structured rotations across various departments, including Safety, Mining, Ready-Mix Concrete, Dispatch, Sales, Fleet, Procurement, Community Relations, and Quality Control.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of each department’s processes and how they interconnect within the business.
- Conduct hands-on jobsite and laboratory testing as part of the Quality Control rotation.
- Assist in operational tasks related to mining equipment, plant operations, and production cycles.
- Support process improvements and cross-functional projects as needed.
- Write detailed reports and summaries to document observations, key learnings, and improvement opportunities throughout the training program.
- Present findings to managers and mentors at regular checkpoints.
- Attend internal cross-departmental meetings to gain exposure to leadership discussions and strategic planning.
- Represent Holliday Rock at external events, jobsite visits, or community engagements as assigned.
- Propose new ideas and solutions to improve department workflow, communication, or productivity.
- Act as a flexible support resource across various teams when needed.

- Mechanically inclined with hands-on tool experience.
- Minimum 4 years bachelor’s degree.

- Ability to travel (20%); some overnight travel may be required.

- This role involves driving, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
