Scope


The incumbent will be responsible for handling Exports sales for ME & Africa at Godrej Industries Ltd- chemicals.


About Godrej Industries (Chemicals Division)


GIL Chemicals is one of the oldest businesses of the Godrej Group. We have pioneered the manufacturing of oleo-chemicals venturing into the business in 1963. We produce a wide range of oleo chemical products derived from organic material.

Our products cater to various market segments including personal care, pharmaceutical and food industries. As of today, we market over 100 chemicals that finds myriad applications in over 24 products. Keeping abreast of the evolving market, we have built our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities located in Valia, Gujarat and in Ambernath, Maharashtra. We produce over 200,000 metric tonnes of chemical products annually, for use in home and personal care, rubber processing, polymer, pharmaceutical and industrial applications. We have an established international presence and are further expanding our business to tap unaddressed regional markets. Our products are exported to over 80 countries in North and South America, Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa.

Focusing on innovation and best practices, we constantly get involved in collaborative partnerships and learn from stakeholders from across the globe. We continuously build on our product line by including value added specialty products. Furthermore, we also make considerable investments in Research and Development to enhance our capabilities, helping us diversify our product portfolio. We develop new products in our Research and Development Centre at Ambernath and a pilot plant at Valia. We’ve also established a Technology Excellence Group to help us build on our technical capabilities. Roles & Responsibilities


  • Manage and Drive market development, achieve sales plans for international B2B partnerships for new and existing distributors. Build new profitable revenue streams by winning new customers and expanding our distribution portfolio.
  • Provide a detailed monthly report on sales, projections, 3-5 years plan, various leads and initiatives and drive the numbers for top line, bottom line, forecast accuracy, activity, etc.
  • Develop and execute strategy for market growth via Promotions, Pricing, Distribution Strategies & Tactics and CRM.
  • Portfolio management: Identification of new products and develop business case by identifying the new products and planning the launch in the markets.
  • Gaining and analyzing market intelligence and conducting any required market research, as well as specific competitor evaluation. Tracking economic conditions, estimating the potential of specific countries, segments and customers to focus activities to drive quick wins.
  • Travel extensively to the focus countries to drive business progress and sales growth, gaining market share and represent the company in regional/international trade fairs/exhibitions, association meetings. Develop, and maintain relationships with various government and private industry personnel as relevant.
  • Appointing new Distributors/Trading Agents/Business Partners in the Target market/ Focus countries after entering to valid legal confidential Agreement.
  • Work in coordination with the customer support, regulatory, finance, category heads and other teams as needed to ensure all compliances and processes are conducted as needed. Coordinating with the factories as needed for production, shipments, and tracking order fulfilment


Target Market :

  • Middle East – We have existing partners and businesses, many untapped potentials for existing and new products.
  • Africa – Need a complete revamp for this region, existing business is too small for such a large market.

  • Learning through continuous engagement with customers, understanding their needs and what GCHEM can offer.
  • Positive engagement with BU, R&D team, for deeper understanding of our product portfolio.
  • Attending various workshops arranged by BU, product development team.
