Inventory Manager – Label & Packaging Business Role Overview

The Inventory Manager oversees all aspects of stock management for labels, packaging materials, and related supplies. This role ensures accurate tracking, optimal stock levels, and smooth flow of materials to support production schedules and customer commitments. The manager plays a critical role in balancing cost efficiency, operational reliability, and sustainability goals within the packaging supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Control & Accuracy
  • Maintain precise records of stock levels for labels, cartons, flexible packaging, and raw materials.
  • Implement cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy.
  • Use ERP/WMS systems to monitor stock movements and generate reports.
  • Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production teams to forecast demand.
  • Align inventory levels with seasonal trends, customer orders, and new product launches.
  • Prevent stockouts and overstock situations through proactive planning.
  • Warehouse & Logistics Management
  • Oversee storage, handling, and distribution of packaging materials.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in warehouse operations.
  • Optimize space utilization and material flow for efficiency.
  • Supplier & Procurement Coordination
  • Work closely with sourcing managers to align inventory with supplier lead times.
  • Track inbound shipments and manage buffer stocks for critical materials.
  • Support procurement in identifying slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Sustainability & Compliance
  • Implement eco-friendly inventory practices (e.g., reducing waste, recycling packaging).
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and certifications (ISO, FSC, etc.).
  • Report on sustainability metrics related to packaging inventory.
  • Process Improvement & Risk Management
  • Develop and implement inventory policies, SOPs, and KPIs.
  • Identify risks in supply continuity and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Drive automation and digitalization initiatives for inventory management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in inventory or warehouse management, preferably in packaging or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with lean inventory practices and sustainability initiatives.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
