We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Manager – Investment Research & Portfolio Analysis to support the firm's investment activities across multiple asset classes. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting investment research, financial modeling, portfolio monitoring, and investment opportunity evaluation to support management's capital allocation and investment decisions.
This role is ideal for professionals with experience in PSX equity research, financial analysis, portfolio monitoring, and investment evaluation, who are looking to broaden their exposure across public and private investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Lead the development and execution of the firm's overall investment strategy and asset allocation framework.
- Construct, manage, and optimize investment portfolios in line with risk and return objectives.
- Identify opportunities across public markets, private investments, real estate, fixed income, commodities, and alternative asset classes.
- Define portfolio allocation, position sizing, entry and exit strategies, and portfolio rebalancing policies.
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend strategic and tactical adjustments.
Research & Investment Analysis
- Lead fundamental research and valuation of PSX-listed companies and other investment opportunities.
- Build and oversee detailed 3-statement financial models, DCF valuations, relative valuations, and investment theses.
- Initiate and supervise coverage of key sectors including Energy, Cement, Banking, Fertilizer, Technology, Industrials, and other relevant sectors.
- Prepare and review investment memos covering thesis, valuation, catalysts, risks, and expected returns.
- Monitor earnings releases, regulatory filings, macroeconomic developments, and sector-specific trends.
- Conduct channel checks, management meetings, industry research, and due diligence activities.
Investment Committee & Decision Making
- Lead and manage the Investment Committee process.
- Present investment recommendations supported by detailed financial and strategic analysis.
- Maintain investment watchlists, opportunity pipelines, and catalyst calendars.
- Establish investment policies, approval frameworks, and governance standards.
- Ensure disciplined investment decision-making and portfolio oversight.
Macro, Economic & Market Research
- Monitor economic indicators including interest rates, inflation, exchange rates, fiscal policy, IMF programs, commodity prices, and capital market trends.
- Develop sector outlooks and macroeconomic assessments to support investment decisions.
- Publish regular investment strategy reports, sector reviews, and market outlook presentations.
Risk Management & Performance Monitoring
- Establish portfolio risk management frameworks and monitoring systems.
- Conduct concentration, liquidity, correlation, and stress-testing analysis.
- Monitor portfolio exposures and recommend risk mitigation measures.
- Evaluate investment performance against benchmarks and strategic objectives.
Private Investments & Strategic Opportunities
- Evaluate private equity, venture capital, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and business investment opportunities.
- Conduct commercial, operational, and financial due diligence.
- Assess investment feasibility, expected returns, risks, and exit opportunities.
- Support transaction structuring and investment negotiations where required.
Stakeholder Reporting & Relationship Management
- Prepare investment reports, portfolio reviews, and performance updates for management and investors.
- Develop relationships with brokers, research houses, fund managers, banks, industry experts, and investment partners.
- Represent the firm in investment-related meetings, conferences, and industry forums.
Requirements
- MBA Finance, CFA, CA, ACCA, FRM, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 6–10 years of experience in investment research, portfolio management, asset management, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or related fields.
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation, portfolio construction, and capital allocation.
- Demonstrated experience in making and managing investment decisions across multiple asset classes.
- Deep understanding of Pakistan capital markets, macroeconomics, and investment frameworks.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Experience leading investment committees, research teams, or portfolio management functions will be preferred.
Pay: Rs200,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month
