Job Title: Manager - Legal Counsel
Location: Bengaluru - Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team: You will be part of CBA India Legal Team and working closely with the colleagues and stakeholders across Group.

Impact & contribution: The Manager - Legal Counsel will oversee the legal aspects of our business and support. CBA’s operations in India. This position will be based in Bangalore. The position will also work closely with Procurement, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Human Resource & Chief Operations Office.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Advising stakeholders on Data privacy regulations, Labor laws, Information Technology and Intellectual property laws.
  • Sharing insights and counsel on newly introduced legislation including the new labour code and data protection legislations.
  • Drafting and negotiating Master Agreements, Framework Agreements, Services Agreements, Vendor/ Supplier agreements and Specific Project Agreements in a worldwide environment.
  • Developing Standard Operating Processes for the various employment law matters.
  • Providing legal counsel to HR and Business stakeholders from employment and privacy law standpoint.
  • Ensure regular reporting of quality aspects and be able to identify risks and opportunities and escalate to management.
  • Interface with law firms.
  • Facilitate trainings and awareness sessions on legal topics.


Essential Skills:

  • 9 to 13 years of proven experience in advising and solving business problems related to HR and employment laws.
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating (international) commercial contracts.
  • Analyse data available to you to identify better ways to perform tasks and contribute ideas to make systems and processes more effective.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with a worldwide matrix-based organization.
  • Strong Team Player - Contribute to the Legal Department systematic development and be a team player.
  • Management and collaborate on cross-border or multiple jurisdictional transactions.
  • Detailed and results-oriented, with outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated business savvy with the ability to work successfully with high level business clients and to evaluate and to accept appropriate risk-taking to protect shareholder value.
  • Strong business acumen, a robust yet flexible personality, good communication skills (oral and written) and can operate in a multi-cultural and multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • This position should promote the CBA’s Code of Ethics as well and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
  • Excellent internal and external communication with strong focus on company interests.


Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree/Master’s degree in Laws
