The purpose of the Manager Logistics position is to lead, manage, and optimize all logistics and supply chain operations for the organization, ensuring seamless coordination between domestic trucking, international freight, and global shipping networks. This role exists to build a reliable, cost-efficient, and scalable logistics infrastructure that supports the company’s growth, enhances delivery performance, and strengthens partnerships with major carriers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities

● Lead the logistics department and develop long-term strategies to improve operational efficiency.
● Oversee domestic and international logistics activities across all freight types (air, sea, ground).
● Set KPIs, performance standards, and build a high-performing logistics team.
● Ensure compliance with global shipping regulations, customs policies, and import/export documentation.

Domestic & International Logistics
● Manage domestic trucking operations across regions with strong knowledge of ground transportation networks.
● Oversee US freight operations, including LTL/FTL shipments, warehouse coordination, and last-mile partner management.
● Lead China-to-US logistics, including freight negotiations, booking, customs clearance, and port-to-door connections.
● Coordinate with global carriers such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, Amazon Freight, Maersk, etc.

Vendor & Partner Management

● Build and manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and trucking vendors.
● Negotiate rates/contracts to ensure cost-effective shipping solutions.
● Evaluate vendor performance and maintain a preferred partner list.

Operations & Process Optimization
● Develop SOPs for shipping, receiving, customs handling, warehousing, and distribution.
● Optimize freight consolidation, routing, and cost-saving strategies.
● Ensure timely shipment tracking, reporting, and troubleshooting delays.

Technology & Reporting

● Utilize logistics management software (TMS, WMS, ERP systems) for visibility and tracking.
● Prepare regular reports on freight costs, delivery performance, customs delays, and operational metrics.
● Implement automation tools to improve process efficiency.

Qualifications (Must Have):

● Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
● 8–12+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain management.
● Strong hands-on background in US domestic trucking operations.
● Proven experience managing China-to-US freight shipments (air, sea, and express).
● Experience working with major global carriers such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, Maersk, etc.
● Solid understanding of global customs regulations, HS codes, and import/export documentation.
● Demonstrated ability to manage large freight volumes efficiently and under pressure.
● Experience leading logistics teams and managing vendor relationships.

Qualifications (Preferred):
● Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
● Experience with Amazon FBA/FBM logistics.
● Knowledge of air freight, ocean freight (FCL/LCL), and express courier operations.
● Familiarity with ERP, TMS, WMS, or logistics automation systems.
● Strong analytical capabilities with working knowledge of Excel, Power BI, or other BI tools.
