Position Summary:

The Manager Merchant Products is responsible for identifying merchant needs, market gaps, and commercial opportunities and translating them into clear, structured product requirements for the merchant product and technology teams. The role acts as the bridge between merchant-facing business teams and product development, ensuring that new merchant products and enhancements are grounded in real market demand, operational feasibility, and commercial impact. This role is not a core product owner but a business-side product catalyst, focused on market scanning, requirement definition, and post-launch feedback loops.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously scan the market to identify emerging merchant needs, pain points, and adoption barriers across retail, SME, and enterprise segments.
  • Gather structured feedback from merchant acquisition teams, regional sales, key account managers, and merchants
  • Track competitor and regional market offerings to identify feature gaps and differentiation opportunities.
  • Translate market and merchant insights into clear business requirements for new products or enhancements.
  • Act as a single point of contact from the business team for merchant product requirement intake.
  • Collaborate with product managers to clarify requirements, priorities, and scope.
  • Monitor early adoption and usage trends of newly launched merchant products.
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative feedback from merchants and field teams post-launch.
  • Identify product adoption bottlenecks and propose iterative improvements.
  • Support product teams during discovery by providing merchant context and field insights.
  • Coordinate with regional teams for controlled rollouts and feedback collection.
  • Identify operational gaps during pilots and recommend refinements.
  • Support go-to-market readiness by helping define merchant-facing messaging, training needs, and FAQs.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with merchant strategy, pricing models, and lifecycle programs
  • Prepare concept notes, problem statements, and high-level PRDs for merchant-facing solutions.
  • Identify operational, compliance, or pricing constraints impacting merchant product adoption
  • Manage multiple cross-functional initiatives and foster effective communication across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders on progress, challenges, and initiatives.
  • Develop procedures and controls to promote smooth information flow and alignment across teams
  • Incumbent shall be responsible to adhere by Easypaisa Bank Behaviors in all aspects of his/her work conduct

Knowledge and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Finance. MBA to be preferred

Experience:

  • 3–6 years of experience in merchant business, fintech, payments, telecom, or retail banking.
  • Exposure to merchant acquisition, merchant operations, or merchant growth functions.
  • Experience working with product or technology teams in a requirement-gathering or business analysis capacity is preferred.
  • Understanding of merchant payment flows (QR, POS, settlements) is highly desirable.

Behavioral Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of payments, acquiring, QR/POS, and digital wallets
  • Comfort with data, metrics, and business impact analysis.
  • Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and relationship management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and campaign tools
  • Deep understanding of merchant acquiring business
  • Written and verbal communication skills
