Role Summery:

The NDT & Robots Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of advanced NDT systems and industrial robots used in quality inspection and production processes. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, availability, and optimization of these critical assets. The position manages a team of engineers and technicians, develop and implement maintenance strategies, and lead efforts in troubleshooting and continuous improvement.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance plans for NDT systems (such as UT, RT, MT, PT) and industrial robots.
  2. Lead the team in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues, ensuring timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  3. Manage, train, and develop a team of NDT and robotics maintenance technicians and engineers.
  4. Implement predictive maintenance techniques to identify potential issues before they lead to failures.
  5. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  6. Collaborate with process and quality engineers to identify opportunities for improving equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  7. Regularly review equipment performance data and implement action plans to increase the uptime of NDT and robotic systems.
  8. Ensure all NDT and robotic systems and maintenance activities comply with industry regulations and internal safety standards.
  9. Collaborate with production, quality control, and automation teams to ensure NDT and robotic systems support seamless production processes.
  10. Act as the main point of contact for audits and inspections related to NDT systems and robotic automation.


Qualification and Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics or robotics or related field preferred.


Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintaining NDT equipment and industrial robotics in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the steel or oil & gas industry.


Skills:

  • Strong understanding of industrial safety protocols and practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT) and a solid understanding of robotic systems (ABB, Fanuc, etc.).
  • Proven experience in managing maintenance teams and leading large-scale maintenance operations.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems (such as SAP PM) and familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in industrial environments.
