Manager Nurse Diabetes Education

Job Summary

The Nurse Diabetes Education Manager spearheads initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and the implementation of technologically advanced methodologies for diabetes care within the nursing department. Fosters evidence-based practices and champions innovative strategies to drive favorable patient outcomes. Strategically formulates and aligns policies with regulatory standards and organizational expectations. Oversees resource allocation and daily scheduling, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of documentation while upholding nursing care standards. Develops dashboards and reports to relay departmental activities to the Nurse Practice Council and/or Nurse Executive Team. Cultivates relationship with the Director of Nursing Education, delivering updates on process enhancements to hospital-wide nurse educators. Provides ongoing coaching and mentorship to diabetes nurses, aligning with Tampa General Hospital's mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience as a charge nurse or clinician.
• Proven track record of effectively coaching team members, creating learning opportunities, and fostering high levels of engagement.
• Proficient with organizational systems/applications: i.e., Epic, MS Office, Dimensions, etc
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, hospital committees, and diverse patient populations.
• Proficiency in identifying issues and developing practical solutions to enhance diabetes education.
