Position Overview

Lotus Professional College is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated HR Assistant | Executive Assistant | Compliance Manager to join our administrative team. The HR Assistant will provide day-to-day support in Human Resources functions, including employee records, onboarding, payroll support, compliance documentation, and staff communications.

In addition, this role will assist and support the Executive Assistant to the President with daily operations and administrative tasks, offering broader support to ensure smooth and efficient College administration. As well as the Compliance Officer role who will ensure the institution adheres to all federal, state, and accrediting regulations by developing policies, monitoring risk, and leading training on compliance requirements. This role also serves as the liaison with regulators, conducts audits, and addresses compliance concerns to uphold integrity and accountability across the College. A strong focus on compliance research and implementation (OSHA, HIPAA, FERPA, and other regulatory requirements) is essential to this position.

This is an hourly, on-site role that requires professionalism, discretion, and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with new hire onboarding, including preparing offer letters, processing paperwork, and orientation coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Support payroll processes by collecting timesheets, assisting with data entry, and ensuring timely submission.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, updates, and employee inquiries.
  • Prepare HR-related correspondence, memos, and internal communications.
  • Research and implement compliance requirements, including OSHA workplace safety standards, HIPAA privacy/security measures, FERPA student record protections, and other applicable laws.
  • Assist with HR audits, policy updates, and compliance training initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Executive Assistant to the President, including scheduling, communications, reporting, and special projects.
  • Support College-wide HR and compliance projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of previous experience in Human Resources, payroll, compliance, or administrative support required; higher education or healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of compliance areas such as OSHA, HIPAA, and FERPA strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and HR software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Compensation

  • Hourly pay: $20.00 – $26.00/hour, Depending on experience
