POSITION: Manager of PurchasingStores

The Manager of PurchasingStores (MP&S) oversees procurement, inventory management, storage, and distribution of parts and supplies essential to company operations. This full-time position is based at our Anchorage offices located at the south end of Ted Stevens International Airport. This role ensures timely material and parts availability to support maintenance and operational needs while maintaining regulatory compliance and company policies. Reponsibilities include inventory planning, cost-effective purchasing, interdepartmental coordination, supervision and training of Stores personnel, and maintaining accurate records of purchases, repairs, and stock.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and manage all purchasing, inventory levels, repair estimates, storage, shipping, and receiving of company-controlled parts and supplies
  • Establish and maintain accurate records of parts purchases, repairs, leases, and inventory related to maintenance, station operations, and facilities/GSE.
  • Develop and maintain minimum stock levels for critical components; coordinate closely with Director of Maintenance (DOM) to ensure adequate parts, equipment, and tooling.
  • Oversee AOG and time-sensitive parts and materials, including daily coordination with the DOM, Fleet Logistics Coordinator, and Maintenance Control; maintain the AOG Parts Tracker.
  • Conduct receiving inspections and ensure proper documentation and record retention per company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Management of Stores personnel, including scheduling, timecard management, training, task delegation, and direct supervision.
  • Maintain stockroom organization, proper packaging, handling, and protection of inventory; safeguard company assets and ensure proper use of funds.
  • Negotiate financially sound purchasing practices (excluding long-term vendor contracts).
  • Coordinate with the Chief Inspector (CI) to ensure use of approved repair stations, maintain regulatory records, manage SUPS notifications, and communicate maintenance provider or vendor changes.
  • Participate in maintenance meetings, CASS meetings, and cross-departmental coordination meetings to support operational needs.
  • Perform departmental and outstation support duties as required and assume other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an airline's materials/logistics department
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain SIDA badge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, commercial maintenance, and inventory management systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Logistics and Transportation, or similar preferred
  • Previous managerial experience desired
