$60,818 - $72,981, Home Office Grade 5

THE OPPORTUNITY

YES Prep needs a dynamic Manager of Teacher Development Operations with a robust set of experiences to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.

To put it simply, you will serve as a strategist, event planner, and operational master mind behind Teacher Development at YES Prep. Your role is critical in providing the operational support necessary for the strong teacher and instructional leader development necessary to provide students with the education they deserve.

THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:

New Teacher Development Programming
  • Planning and executing the operations of large-scale events for Teacher Development, including Teaching Excellence Induction, Teacher Development Saturdays, New to Blue, New Teacher Academy, Late New Hire Orientation, and other professional learning experiences;
  • Developing program placements, rosters, and schedules for all teachers new to the organization;
  • Ensuring facilities, food, and supply availability and readiness;
  • Developing surveys and data roll-ups to analyze event satisfaction;
  • Managing attendance processes and pay submission for all professional learning;
  • Hiring and managing the efforts of a small team of summer operations interns for Teaching Excellence programming;
  • Drafting differentiated communication to new hires about their summer onboarding experience and managing the email account for teacher programming;
  • Serving as the Teacher Development representative on the First Day Ready Committee;
  • Collaborating with Talent to ensure that all new hires are first-day ready.

Instructional Leader Development
  • Planning and executing the operations of Coach Development events, including the launches for our student achievement strategy, content days, coaching intensives, and development for aspiring instructional leaders;
  • Preparing key resources, trackers, and deliverables for coaching strategy;
  • Ensuring facilities, food, and supply availability and readiness;
  • Coordinating rosters and attendance for all events;
  • Developing surveys and data roll-ups to analyze event satisfaction;
  • Drafting key communication around logistics for all events.

Executive Support
  • Direct support of the Managing Director of Teacher Development in the planning of calendar management, meeting planning, collateral creation, procurement, budgeting, budget strategy, inventory, and storage;
  • Maintaining internal SharePoint and external website for all Teacher Development programs;
  • Driving cultural initiatives to maintain strong morale on the Teacher Development team;
  • Developing, maintaining, and analyzing data tracking systems to assess progress towards goals;
  • Collaborating within and beyond Teacher Development to form cross-functional teams that execute upon intentionally designed professional learning and certification programming events for teachers, campus leaders, and Home Office leaders throughout YES Prep;
  • Collaborating with Teacher Development team members to align communication, improve programming, and support all stakeholder groups (teachers, campus leaders, Home Office leaders, and partners);
  • Serving as a member of the School Support Team to execute on critical Schools team programming, including Content Day, Schools Teams Huddle, Leadership Summit, and celebrations;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

THE MUST HAVES
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university OR 3+ years of successful experience in an equivalent role
  • 1+ years of experience planning and executing successful large-scale events.
  • Strong ability to anticipate and identify opportunities to establish and improve systems, and the skill and self-directness to execute upon filling these gaps
  • Meticulous attention to detail, follow up and follow through
  • Stellar communication skills, open to giving and receiving frequent feedback
  • Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends, especially in July and for monthly teacher-facing events
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
  • Creates and maintains positive working relationships on a team and/or in a highly collaborative environment
  • A dedication to learn, grow, and develop as a professional

  • CompensationThis position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.

  • Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
