Job Summary: The Operations Manager leads site-level distribution operations within one of GWP’s distribution centers. Through hands-on leadership, this position instills a culture of safety, efficiency, accountability, and service to deliver for our customers. The Operations Manager is the embodiment of the GWP standards that enable safe and successful distribution operations to scale with company growth. A leader of leaders, this position will communicate priorities effectively and leverage their direct report leadership team to delegate responsibilities and hold site-wide accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and implement comprehensive safety protocols and procedures at the site level, working collaboratively with the VP of Distribution and the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to ensure full regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and a culture of safety across all operations.
  • Ensure site-level performance meets or exceeds established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including productivity, safety, quality, and service metrics, through active monitoring, corrective action planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze, streamline, and optimize on-site workflows and operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance throughput, while maintaining alignment with broader operational goals and standards.
  • Oversee the accurate tracking and reporting of employee time and attendance using relevant systems; address attendance issues proactively and ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal policies.
  • Develop and execute workforce plans aligned with forecasted operational demand, ensuring adequate staffing levels while optimizing labor costs and maintaining service quality.
  • Lead performance evaluation processes for site operations employees, including goal setting, coaching, feedback, and development planning; identify and address underperformance while recognizing and rewarding strong contributors.
  • Manage site inventory accuracy and integrity by overseeing inventory counts, reconciliations, loss prevention efforts, and system updates, ensuring alignment with operational and financial goals.
  • Lead or support the execution of site-level projects, such as infrastructure improvements, equipment upgrades, or process initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Prepare and deliver Weekly Performance Review (WPR) analytics and briefings, providing actionable insights on site performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement to site leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide backup support for customer order entry functions as required, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to service standards.
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings with site teams to communicate priorities, safety updates, performance metrics, and team goals, fostering alignment and engagement across shifts.
  • Monitor and control site operational (OPEX) and capital (CAPEX) expenditures in accordance with budgetary guidelines; identify cost-saving opportunities and support financial reporting and forecasting processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (7+ years) experience in operations leadership roles with a strong track record of success in safety and service driven environments.
  • Familiarity with WMS/ERP software utilization
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver on project requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with strengths in communication, people leadership, and process leadership.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Servant-leadership mentality with a player/coach approach
  • Familiarity with 5S, safety, and continuous improvement preferred
  • Fluent in English, Spanish a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to pass a background check (including MVR), drug test, and physical

ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR OUTBOUND LEAD:

  • Incident/accident rates, and resolution of corrective actions.
  • Meeting or exceeding site-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (productivity, accuracy, cost-efficiency, and customer service levels).
  • Labor-to-output ratios, absenteeism rates, and workforce utilization metrics.
  • Cycle count accuracy, inventory adjustments, and inventory-related audit results.
  • Budget adherence, variance reporting, and cost savings achieved.
  • Process cycle times, throughput improvements.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of WPR reports, clarity of stand-up meetings, feedback from leadership.
  • SLA adherence and order accuracy.
