Manager Operations Data and Analytics

  • The Manager is responsible for owning and governing the full suite of Operations Data & Analytics products and services within the AMC. This includes capturing and prioritizing business requirements, leading the delivery of data solutions, upholding data quality standards, and developing the capabilities of direct line management employees. The Manager is the primary point of accountability for the quality, accuracy, and relevance of all operational data and analytics outputs.
  • The Manager drives the strategic and operational use of data across the AMC, advancing the team’s capabilities in Power BI, SQL, Databricks, and AI/automation to deliver insight that directly supports airport performance management at Abu Dhabi Airports.
  • The AMC is the central hub for three functions:


  1. Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) - Leading day-of-operations within 24/7 control room co-located with ground handler, control authorities, airlines, emergency services and others.
  2. Operations Planning - leading integrated operational planning and performance analysis for all ADAIRPORTS airports to deliver our target Levels of Service (LOS).
  3. Operations Data & Analytics – leading operational data quality management and the development of AMC reporting, analytics, and tools.
  • Initially the focus shall be Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) operations and the preparation for the transition to the Midfield Terminal Complex (MTC).


MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Operational Data Quality Management


  • Own the monthly aeronautical billing dataset process, ensuring all reconciliation and validation issues are resolved accurately and within required timeframes, with clear audit trails across AODB, airline, and ground handler data sources.
  • Provide regular, executive-ready reporting on airport operational performance, including OTP, stand utilization, GPU/PCA connectivity, passenger processing, and baggage metrics, highlighting risks and trends to AMC leadership.
  • Proactively identify new data sources, system integrations, and analytical opportunities, including AI and automation, that can enhance the AMC’s reporting and decision-support capabilities in line with business priorities.
  • Own the design and delivery of data solutions across the AMC, setting technical standards for Power BI development, SQL data modelling, and Databricks pipeline architecture, and ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and well-documented.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the AMC’s operational performance management framework, defining KPI methodologies, measurement logic, and reporting cadences in partnership with Operations Planning and AOCC.
  • Apply critical thinking and structured problem-solving to resolve complex data, analytical, and operational challenges, making well-reasoned decisions under pressure and maintaining clear documentation of rationale.
  • Manage and develop team members, setting clear objectives, providing coaching and technical mentorship, conducting performance reviews, and creating individual development plans that build capability in data engineering, analytics, and AI.


Operations Data & Analytics Governance

  • Own and enforce the AMC’s data governance framework, evaluating and resolving governance issues across all data flows, including aggregated multi-source datasets, AODB integrations, and third-party system connections.
  • Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of data governance policies, data quality standards, and data access controls across all AMC operational datasets, ensuring compliance with Abu Dhabi Airports policies.
  • Embed data governance principles, including metadata management, data lineage, version control, and security, across all data engineering, pipeline development, and analytics activities undertaken by the team.
  • Anticipate and shape the reporting needs of Abu Dhabi Airports stakeholders, proactively engaging with business units to capture requirements, define data products, and ensure AMC analytics output remains aligned to organizational objectives.


Operations Reporting, Analytics & Tools

  • Define and govern the end-to-end processes that translate raw operational data into insight, from ingestion and transformation through to Power BI dashboards and executive reports, identifying and delivering improvements at every stage.
  • Manage the full delivery lifecycle of analytics products, from raw data sourcing through to published Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and meet agreed specifications.
  • Produce and oversee the production of high-quality analytical outputs including management information reports, business cases, and executive presentations that communicate complex data clearly to senior airport leadership.
  • Champion automation and AI-augmented analytics, developing or overseeing the development of automated data pipelines, intelligent alerting, and AI-assisted analysis tools using Databricks, Python, and Power Automate to reduce manual effort and improve data timeliness.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement appropriate tools and technology solutions to address recurring operational data challenges, including resource prediction and optimization, real-time operational monitoring, and flight movement analytics.


Stakeholder Engagement, Collaboration and Facilitation

  • Support the HoD/SVP AMC by translating corporate and group strategic direction into data and analytics priorities, providing analysis that informs senior decision-making and resource planning.
  • Partner with teams across the airport, including Operations Planning, AOCC, Commercial, IT, and Finance, to identify key metrics, co-develop reporting solutions, and ensure data-driven decision-making is embedded across the organization.
  • Act as the AMC’s primary interface with IT, data engineering, and system owners, coordinating requirements, managing solution delivery, and ensuring operational data from AODB and other critical systems is properly integrated and governed.
  • Represent AMC Operations Data & Analytics in cross-functional committees and forums on operational performance, contributing data-driven insight and advocating for improvements in capacity utilization, efficiency, and service delivery.


Others

  • Responsible for instilling Abu Dhabi Airports values and behaviors with their team.
  • The job holder shall be based in the AMC working normal office working hours.
  • Support the review of risk assessments through collaboration and consultation with HSE team, ensuring key risks are understood without direct field involvement.
  • Promote safe work practices by encouraging timely reporting of incidents, near misses, and environmental concerns, and reinforcing the importance of organizational safety expectations.
  • Monitor team adherence to HSE procedures and escalate issues as needed, working closely with HSE and operational stakeholders to ensure corrective actions are addressed appropriately.

  • Experience in process mapping/modelling and maintaining project documentation.
  • Evangelist in data visualisation techniques, analytics dashboard design, infographic displays and information delivery best practices.
  • Understanding why pie charts are not the best way to convey information.
  • Highly numerate and logical, clear understanding of different statistical techniques.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (DAX, data modelling, governance, deployment), SQL, and Databricks; strong working knowledge of Python and Power Automate; ability to set and enforce technical standards across the team.
